Soko Adventure and Safaris is a family affair. Owners Sebastian and Irene Mallya are committed to providing their safari guests with the best possible experience. They love their work and it shows. Although his family roots are in the Kilimanjaro region, Sebastian was born in Arusha and after schooling began his career as a guide.
After fifteen years guiding is still his passion and Sebastian often escorts groups himself. Irene mans the office and will be the one to help you create the perfect safari of your dreams.

Next we have Davis, one of our wonderful safari-driver guides, who joined the team in 2006. He studied the tourism and wildlife course in Arusha, and spent 3 years as a freelance safari guide before joining us. Davis has a great sense of humor, and always has a smile on his face. Any safari with Davis is sure to be fun and one to be remembered. | |
Emmanuel

Meet Emmanuel, one of our fine SOKO safari driver-guides. He was born into the Maasai tribe and raised in the Arusha area. After completing his secondary education, he attended a two year program, at the YMCA school for hotel & business in the Kilimanjaro area. Emmanuel spent several years working in the hotel industry before following his passion and enthusiasm for becoming a safari driver-guide. His belief is that no matter how much he has learned, there is always something new to be learned and discovered. | |

Swalehe
|
Swalehe is one more of our outstanding driver-guides. His love for wildlife also drew him into the safari lifestyle. He studied for 4 years to become a qualified driver guide. After graduating, he spent the following six years building his career, that has lead him to join our team at SOKO. We're so pleased to have him with us | |
Paulo
|
Paulo is our magic man. Besides him being a maintenance engineer, who oversees the maintence inspections of our fleet vehicles upon return from safari, he also conducts quality assurance on all of our company equipment. You are pretty much bound to come across him either picking you up from the airport or meeting him at the office. If something needs to get done, Pudo's our man! Along with a great sense of humour, he's an absolute pleasure to be around. His energy is contagious and we are very fortunate to have him on our team. | |
PETER
|
Peter is our valued head mountain guide with SOKO, who comes from the Pare Mountains. He's been with our company from day one, and has been given the nick name of 'Lama' due to his calming and relaxed nature. Peter spent 5 years as a porter and 4 years as a mountain guide before coming onboard with SOKO. Besides climbing all the other mountains including Mount Meru, Mount Kenya, Oldonio Lengai, he has also successfully summited Kilimanjaro over 85 times. He has all the great qualities a top mountain guide should posess in order to provide you with a safe and enjoyable trek. His motto is 'If you want to get to the top of Africa, trek with SOKO Adventures'. In his spare time, Peter loves spending time with his family, the outdoors and is an avid mountain biker. |
